Ca Lu

Ca Lu Combat Base was a United States Marine Corps base located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:16|41|31.51|N|106|53|8.49|E| | |name= }} on Highway or Route 9, near Krông Klang, Đa Krông District, western Quảng Trị Province, South Vietnam. From 16 July to 31 October 1967 the search and destroy-mission Operation Kingfisher was conducted in the area, resulting in 340 U.S. Marines killed and 3,086 wounded. The body count for North Vietnamese casualties was 1,117 killed and 5 POWs.

Khe Sanh Combat Base

Khe Sanh Combat Base was a United States Marine Corps outpost in South Vietnam used during the Vietnam War. The airstrip was built in September 1962. Fighting began there in late April 1967 with the hill fights, which later expanded into the 1968 Battle of Khe Sanh.
