Newbridge, Victoria

Newbridge is a town in central Victoria, Australia. The town is located on the Loddon River and in the Shire of Loddon local government area, 173 kilometres north of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Newbridge had a population of 476. Newbridge was founded as a gold mining town, the Post Office opening on 1 February 1856. Newbridge is a popular camping and fishing location with campsites available along the river.

Arnold, Victoria

Arnold is a small town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on Bridgewater - Dunolly Road, in the Shire of Loddon. The town was originally named Kangadaar, however the creek crossing below the town was Arnold Bridge (privately owned toll bridge)which the town mistakenly became known as. The post office opened on 17 December 1888 as Arnold's Bridge, and was renamed Arnold Railway Station in 1909 and Arnold in 1924, and closed in 1989.

Tarnagulla is a gold mining town in central Victoria, Australia. The town is in the Shire of Loddon local government area, 183 kilometres north west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Tarnagulla had a population of 153.

Laanecoorie, Victoria

Laanecoorie is a locality situated on the Loddon River in Victoria, Australia. It has a community hall, church, and caravan park. Laanecoorie was originally part of the “Simpson Run” and in 1840 “Janevale” home was named after Simpson’s wife. Gold was discovered around Laanecoorie at “Jones Creek” in 1853 and later on at “Poseidon” in 1906.

Laanecoorie Weir

Laanecoorie Weir or Laanecoorie Reservoir, is a water storage for irrigation and domestic purposes on the Loddon River, near the towns of Eddington, Victoria and Laanecoorie, Victoria. It was designed by construction engineer Andrew O'Keefe (died 1904) in conjunction with Joshua Thomas Noble Anderson. This was the second irrigation scheme for Victoria after the Goulburn Weir.
