Stratford railway station, Victoria

Stratford is a railway station on the Bairnsdale railway line in Stratford, Victoria, Australia. It is 222 km from Southern Cross station. Stratford is the only station between Sale and Bairnsdale which has an intermediate stop. The station is located on McFarlane Street. Munro, Fernbank, Lindenow and Hillside stations are demolished and were located between Stratford and Bairnsdale stations.

Stratford, Victoria

Stratford is a town on the Avon River in Victoria, Australia, 232 kilometres east of Melbourne on the Princes Highway in Shire of Wellington. At the 2006 census, Stratford had a population of 1950. The town services the local regional community and travellers on the Princes Highway. Stratford's principal industries are dairying, sheep, cattle and horse breeding and vegetable crops.

Avon River (Gippsland)

The Avon River is located in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. Along with the Latrobe River and Thomson Rivers, it flows into Lake Wellington, the western most of the Gippsland Lakes. The Avon River rises on the slopes of Mount Wellington (altitude 1634m) in the eastern highlands and flows south to Lake Wellington. The major tributaries of the Avon River include Valencia Creek, Freestone Creek and the Perry River which joins just before Lake Wellington.

Maffra

Maffra is a town in Victoria, Australia, 220 kilometres east of Melbourne. It is in the Shire of Wellington local government area. It relies mainly on dairy farming and other agriculture, and is the site of one of Murray-Goulburn Cooperative's eight processing plants in Victoria. Maffra is a detour off the Princes Highway and is near Sale, Stratford, Newry, Tinamba, Heyfield and Rosedale. At the 2006 census, Maffra had a population of 4,149.
