Pingrup, Western Australia

Pingrup is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The name of the town is Indigenous Australian in origin and was the name of a lake that is close to the townsite. The meaning of the word is unknown. The name first appeared on charts of the area in 1873. The townsite came into being as a terminus of the Nyabing railway when it was extended into the area in 1923. The townsite was gazetted in 1924. The surrounding areas produce wheat and other cereal crops.

Chinocup, Western Australia

Chinocup is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. It is situated between the towns of Nyabing and Pingrup Originally a station on the now abandoned Nyabing to Pingrup railway, land was soon in demand in the area around the station and blocks were surveyed and released in 1923. The townsite was gazetted later the same year as Chinokup; the spelling was changed to its present form in 1962.

Lake Altham

Lake Altham is a lake in Western Australia. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:33|23|S|118|26|E||| | |name= }}, in the Shire of Kent. Biogeographically, it is part of the Western Mallee subregion of the Mallee region of the South West Botanic Province. It has an area of about 2.4 square kilometres (0.9 mi²). It is one of four lakes in the area comprising the Lake Grace System, a DIWA-listed wetland of national importance.
