Keoma, Alberta

Keoma is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. Keoma is located approximately 35 km (21 mi) northeast of Downtown Calgary, on Highway 566, 2.0 km (1.2 mi) east of Highway 9 and 19 km (12 mi) north of the Trans-Canada Highway. Keoma is an Indian name for "over there", far away. The hamlet was settled in 1910 when the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) opened up land for irrigation. It is assumed that the CPR named the site, but this is not definitive.

Kathyrn, Alberta

Kathyrn is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. Kathyrn is located approximately 32 km (20 mi) northeast of Downtown Calgary on Highway 566, 1.6 km (1.0 mi) west of Highway 9. A Canadian National Railway line runs northeast through Kathyrn towards Three Hills. Neil McKay, a local farmer and large landowner, named this hamlet after his daughter.

Airdrie-Chestermere

Airdrie-Chestermere was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. It was mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district was located to the east of Calgary in southern Alberta. It was created in the 2004 boundary redistribution from the old riding of Airdrie-Rocky View. The riding has an urban rural mix. It was named after the city of Airdrie and the town of Chestermere.

Dalroy, Alberta

Dalroy is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. It is located approximately 28 km (18 mi) east of Downtown Calgary and 0.8 km (0.5 mi) east of Highway 9. This name 'Dalroy' is a combination of the names Dill & McElroy who were Dalroy’s first local merchants.
