Conestoga (ship)

The Conestoga was an iron-clad wooden steam freighter, 252 ft by 36 ft with a 16 ft hold, constructed in Cleveland by Quale & Son for the Anchor Line, of Erie, PA,and launched July 6th, 1878. On May 22, 1922, while awaiting passage through the Galup Canal Lock 28 (Old Galop Canal), a fire started in her engine room. The ship was flushed away from the lock and drifted downstream, where it burned to its waterline and sank.

Lisbon, New York

Lisbon is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 4,102 at the 2010 census. By some accounts, the town is named after the capital of Portugal. However, the 1810 US Census for the town shows the town's name as Lisburn, which is a city located in Northern Ireland adjacent to the capital of Belfast. Belfast was the birthplace of Alexander Macomb, the prosperous New York City merchant of Loyalist sympathies.

Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge

The Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge, also known as the St. Lawrence Bridge and the Seaway Skyway, is a suspension bridge connecting Ogdensburg, New York in the United States to Johnstown, Ontario (a few kilometres east of Prescott) in Canada. Designed by Modjeski & Masters and completed in 1960, it has 6 spans and a main span of 350.75 meters totaling 1.5 miles across the Saint Lawrence River and Saint Lawrence Seaway.

Ogdensburg Correctional Facility is a medium-security state prison for male prisoners, located in the northern part of St. Lawrence County, New York, USA. The prison is located in the northeast corner of Ogdensburg near the St. Lawrence River. The facility is also used as a Federal Immigration Detention Facility for Immigration Court matters heard in Ulster County, New York. Nearby Riverview Correctional Facility is also a medium-security prison.
