Ø, Denmark

Ø is a piece of land in the valley of the Nørreå in the eastern part of Jutland, Denmark. Its name means island (ø in the Danish language) and probably comes from the island-like approach to this piece of land, although it is completely landlocked and surrounded by meadows. Ø is famous among lexicographers for the extreme brevity of its name: the single letter Ø.

Tjele Municipality

Until 1 January 2007 Tjele municipality was a municipality in the former Viborg County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 273 km², and had a total population of 8,641 (2005). Its last mayor was Anna Margrethe Kaalund. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ørum. Tjele municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).

Foulum

Foulum is a small village in the Tjele parish located in Central Jutland. Foulum is a part of Region Midtjylland and a part of the Viborg municipality. There are approximately 100 households in Foulum, households in the suburb of Foulum, Formyre, included. Most famous is Foulum for its research center, located not more than a couple of 100 metres away from the town. The thief Niels Heidenreich, who stole the Golden Horns of Gallehus, was born in Foulum in 1761.

Bjerringbro Municipality

Until 1 January 2007, Bjerringbro municipality was a municipality in Viborg County on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 207 km², and had a total population of 13,922 (2005). Its latest mayor was Poul Vesterbæk, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Bjerringbro.

World Map at Lake Klejtrup

The World Map at Lake Klejtrup (Danish: Verdenskortet ved Klejtrup Sø) is a miniature world map built of stones and grass in Klejtrup Sø near the village of Klejtrup, Viborg Municipality, Denmark. In 1943, Søren Poulsen, the creator of the World Map, was working on the drainage of the surrounding meadows. He found a stone shaped like Jutland, which inspired him to create a small world of his own.
