Sacred Heart Malankara Catholic Church, Mylapra

Sacred Heart Malankara Syrian Catholic Church or referred as S H Church is located in the village of Mylapra, near Pathanamthitta on the road side of the Main Eastern Highway in the Indian state of Kerala. It is home to one of the oldest Malankara Syrian Catholic group. This is the biggest and oldest established church in the Eparchy of Pathanamthitta. This church is the patron for the Educational Institutions namely, Mount Bethany EHSS and S H Higher Secondary School.

Thazhoor Bhagavathy Kshetram

Thazhoor Bhagavathy Kshetram, (Malayalam: താഴൂര്‍ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം) is a 300-year-old Hindu temple on the banks of the Achankovil river in Vazhamuttom, Pathanamthitta District in Kerala. The Devi (goddess) is the main deity here. . The Padayani held in the month of Kumbham is very famous. Padayani performances are held at the temple annually. Padayani songs are very ancient folklore of Kerala. These folk-dances are traditionally preserved in this part of Kerala.

Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Pathanamthitta

The Eparchy of Pathanamthitta (പത്തനംതിട്ട രൂപത) constitutes the Malankara Syrian Catholic Community in the Vicinity of Pathanamthitta in the Indian State of Kerala. The Diocese came into existence with the consent of Pope Benedict XVI, on 25 January 2010. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom became the first bishop of this Eparchy. St. Peter’s Malankara Catholic Church, Pathanamthitta serves as the Cathedral Church for this Eparchy.
