Hanyū, Saitama is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. As of February 1, 2012, the city has an estimated population of 56,712, with 21,417 households, and a population density of 968.61 persons per km². The total area is 58.55 km². The city was founded on September 1, 1954. The city is located in the most northern part of Saitama Prefecture. Hanyū is served by the Tobu Isesaki and Chichibu lines. Hanyu's northern border is the Tone River (Tonegawa).

Kisai, Saitama

Kisai, Saitama was a town located in Kitasaitama District, Saitama, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 20,105 and a density of 702.97 persons per km². The total area was 28.60 km². On March 23, 2010, the towns of Kisai, Kitakawabe, and Ōtone merged with the city of Kazo to form the city of Kazo. Kitasaitama District was dissolved as a result of this merger.

Kita-Saitama District, Saitama

Kita-Saitama District, Saitama was a district located in Saitama Prefecture. Prior to its abolition, Kita-Saitama District had three towns: Town of Kisai (騎西町; Kisai-machi) Town of Kitakawabe (北川辺町; Kitakawabe-machi) Town of Ōtone (大利根町; Ōtone-machi) On March 23, 2010, all 3 towns merged with the city of Kazo to newly create the city of Kazo and the district dissolved. As a result, it was the first district to dissolve within Saitama Prefecture since the districts were reorganized in 1896.
