Kocēni Municipality is a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Bērzaine parish, Dikļi parish, Kocēni parish, Vaidava parish and Zilākalns parish; the administrative centre being Kocēni. Valmiera District
The Valmiera district was an administrative division of Latvia, located in the Vidzeme region, in the country's north-east. Its administrative center was Valmiera. It bordered Estonia to the north and the former districts of Limbaži to the west, Valka to the east and Cēsis to the south. Vidzemes Augstskola
Vidzemes augstskola (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences) enrolled its first students in the autumn of 1996. It was founded to promote economic, political and social development of the area by providing higher education in the Vidzeme Region of Latvia, and to counteract the brain drain that was occurring as youths left the area to pursue further studies. The university offers a higher professional education on the Bachelor's degree level as well as Master’s studies.

A3 road (Latvia)
The A3 is a national road in Latvia connecting Inčukalns to Estonian border in Valka. The road is part of European Route E264, and part of TEN-T road network of Latvia. After the border, the road turns into Estonian National Highway 3, which leads to Jõhvi in northeastern Estonia. The length of A3 in Latvian territory is 122 kilometers. The road leads through the scenic Gauja National Park. Currently A3 has 1x1 lanes in full length.
