The island lies to the west of the island of Ertvågsøya, south of Solskjel, east of Tustna, and north of the mainland of Halsa. Most of the population lives on the northern part of the island. Halsafjord
The Halsafjord is a fjord in the municipalities of Surnadal and Tingvoll in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The fjord branches south off of the Vinjefjorden and stretches about 15 kilometres until it becomes the Trongfjord off of which the Surnadalsfjord later branches. The highway E39 crosses the fjord by a car ferry near Straumsnes in Tingvoll to Halsa in Halsa.
