Hill Head

Hill Head is a residential area (or village) on the coast of the Solent. It is located south of Stubbington, west of Lee-on-the-Solent and south east of Titchfield, in the borough of Fareham, Hampshire. Hill Head is in the Gosport parliamentary constituency. Hill Head has a shingle beach with fishing, sailing, sailboarding and kitesurfing being the most popular pastimes upon its shores. There is also a small harbour, located where the River Meon enters the Solent.

Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve

The Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve is a National Nature Reserve (NNR) in Hampshire in southern England. It encompasses the lower floodplain of the River Meon, near to the point where it flows into the Solent near Hill Head. Until late in the 16th century, the River Meon was navigable as far as Titchfield, which at that time was a significant port.

Hovercraft Museum

The Hovercraft Museum, located in Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire, England, is dedicated to hovercraft. The museum has a large collection of over sixty hovercraft of various designs. Situated at HMS Daedalus by the large slipway from where many hovercraft have been tested, the museum collection includes SR.N5 and SR.N6 hovercraft, one of which is fully operational.

RNAS Lee-on-Solent (HMS Daedalus)

Royal Naval Air Station Lee-on-Solent (HMS Daedalus) was one of the primary shore airfields of the Fleet Air Arm. First established as a seaplane base in 1917 during the First World War, it later became the main training establishment and administrative centre of the Fleet Air Arm. Situated near Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire, approximately four miles west of Portsmouth on the coast of the Solent at grid reference SU560019, the establishment has now been closed down.

Titchfield Carnival

Titchfield Carnival is an annual event that has been held in Titchfield, Hampshire, England, every year since 1880 onwards, except during World War I and World War II and 2007. It is organised each year by the Titchfield Bonfire Boys Society, and features a parade through the village, a funfair, a variety of floats, fireworks, and a bonfire. The carnival is also famous for its beauty Queen competition that attracts young girls from all across the town.
