Himley railway station

Himley was a station on the Wombourne Branch Line. Unlike other stops along the route, it was deemed worthy of full station status. It was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1925 and closed in 1932. It served the community around Himley Hall. A picnic area now stands on the site of the station. 2002 Dudley earthquake

The 2002 Dudley earthquake was an earthquake registering 4.7 on the Richter scale that struck the Midlands of England, on 22 September 2002 23:53 UTC and lasted approximately 20 seconds. It was the largest earthquake to hit the UK since the 1990 Bishop's Castle earthquake, but there were no injuries and only minor structural damage.
