Sibson, Leicestershire

Sibson is a hamlet in Leicestershire. It forms, with Upton, an ancient parish on the border with north Warwickshire, near Sheepy and Hinckley, now part of the Sheepy Parish Council. The manor of Sibson, also called Sibetesdone or Sibbesdon, was part of John le Poter’s inheritance in the time of Henry I. It changed hands several times over the centuries, passing to Thomas Corbett of Legh in 1420, and Keytes of Gloucestershire, in the early 17th century.

Upton, Leicestershire

Upton, is a small hamlet on the Leicestershire and Warwickshire border west of Shenton and south-east of Sibson. The local area is predominately agricultural. Upton is a ribbon development with a mixture of Georgian, Victorian and more modern properties along Main Road. There is a caravan park and restaurant both operated by Upton Barn. The hamlet has one post box. Administratively, Upton falls under Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council

Ratcliffe Culey

Ratcliffe Culey is a hamlet near the border of Warwickshire and Leicestershire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Witherley. The Gate, a popular non-smoking pub is situated in Ratcliffe Culey along with a post office, greyhound kennels and an All Saints Church. The name Ratcliffe derives from the red clay in the area and it is on highland and Culey is the name of the past land owner.

Battlefield Line Railway

The Battlefield Line Railway is a heritage railway in Leicestershire, England. It runs from Shackerstone to Shenton, via Market Bosworth, a total of 5 miles . Shenton is near Bosworth Field, (the location of the final battle of the Wars of the Roses immortalised in Shakespeare's Richard III), giving the railway its name.
