Staveley, Cumbria

Staveley is a village in the District of South Lakeland in Cumbria, England. It is situated 4 miles northwest of Kendal where the River Kent is joined by its tributary the Gowan. It is also known as Staveley-in-Westmorland and Staveley-in-Kendal to distinguish it from Staveley-in-Cartmel (a small village near Newby Bridge which is now in Cumbria but was previously in Lancashire).

Staveley railway station

Staveley railway station is a railway station in Staveley in Cumbria, England. The station is situated on the Windermere Branch Line from Oxenholme to Windermere. Staveley is a request stop however, in December 2012, this station will become a mandatory station, therefore passengers will no longer need to request the train to stop at this station.

Burneside railway station

Burneside railway station is a railway station in Burneside in Cumbria, England. The station is situated on the Windermere Branch Line from Oxenholme to Windermere. Burneside is a request stop. It only has one platform, although before the branch was reduced to single track it, like the other stations on the line, had two. To the east of the station can be found the only two semaphore signals on the line guarding the manually operated road crossing.
