Woodbury Castle

Woodbury Castle is an Iron Age hill fort near the village of Woodbury in the English county of Devon, some eight miles southeast of the city of Exeter. The fort is situated on a high point of Woodbury Common, at approximately 185 metres above sea level, in a commanding position with views up and down the Exe Estuary and across Lyme Bay in both directions. The structure is a prehistoric military type of earthwork.

Woodbury Common, Devon

Woodbury Common in East Devon is an area of common land that is predominantly heathland adjacent to the village of Woodbury, Devon. It is bordered to the South by the edge of the towns of Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton, the hamlet of Yettington to the East, and the A3052 to the North. It is part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

River Clyst

The River Clyst is a river of England. The river runs through the county of Devon. Rising near the village of Clyst William near Cullompton, the river runs west and southwest, flowing through the settlements of Norman's Green, Plymtree, Clyst Hydon, Clyst St. Lawrence, Westwood, emerging in the Clyst Valley. From there, the river goes southward through Broadclyst, West Clyst, Clyst Honiton, Clyst St. Mary and Clyst St.

RSPB Bowling Green Marsh

Bowling Green Marsh is a nature reserve located on the confluence of the River Exe (at the top end of its estuary) and the River Clyst, near the town of Topsham in Devon. It is managed by the RSPB. Migratory birds including Siberian Brent Geese, come to the marsh in the winter to feed. It is a major point of interest for birders across South West Britain, with many rare species present at any one time.
