Loch Achaidh na h-Inich

Loch Achaidh na h-Inich is a freshwater loch in Scotland, located around 3km south-south-east of Plockton, 2km east of Duirinish, 2km north-north-east of Balmacara, and half a kilometre south-east of Loch Lundie. It is host to a small Crannog in the northern end of the loch, and is a common hiking destination from Balmacara.

Port an Eòrna

Port an Eòrna is the Scottish Gaelic name for the small settlement of Barleyport, situated almost midway between Plockton and the Kyle of Lochalsh, in Ross-shire, Scotland, in the Western Highlands. Port an Eòrna was once a fishing community near Duirinish, an area of common grazing for sheep and Highland cattle. Now it is a cluster of a few houses on National Trust for Scotland land, in an area of spectacular natural beauty.

West Highland College (Scottish Gaelic: Colaiste na Gàidhealtachd an Iar) is a college of further and higher education in the West Highlands of Scotland. The college is part of the University of the Highlands and Islands and operates from a number of college centres across the area, at Auchtertyre, Broadford, Fort William, Kilchoan, Kinlochleven, Mallaig, Portree, Strontian and Ullapool.

Loch Alsh

Loch Alsh or Lochalsh (from the Scottish Gaelic Loch Aillse, "foaming lake") is a sea inlet between the isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides and the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. The name is also used to described the surrounding country and the feudal holdings around the loch. The area is rich in history, and is increasingly popular with tourists. The hilly country around Loch Alsh has a temperate, well-watered climate. There is some pasture and woodland, but much of the area is moorland.
