Lake Village, Arkansas

Lake Village is a city in Chicot County, Arkansas. The population was 2,823 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Chicot County. Lake Village is named for its location on Lake Chicot, an oxbow lake formed from the Mississippi River. Lake Chicot is the largest oxbow lake in North America and the largest natural lake in Arkansas. The state Tourist Information Center in Lake Village is located on a pier extending out into Lake Chicot.

Lakeside High School is an accredited public high school in Chicot County, Arkansas, United States. It is located on Highway 82 just west of Lake Village. Within the state, the school is referred to as Lake Village or Lakeside Lake Village high school to distinguish itself from Lakeside High School in Hot Springs. Lakeside High School is administered by Lakeside School District and serves roughly 400 students in ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade.

Lakeside School District is a public school district based in Lake Village, Arkansas, United States. The Lakeside School District encompasses 242.54 square miles of land including all or portions of Chicot County and Ashley County communities including Lake Village, Eudora, Portland, Dermott, and Montrose. Lake Chicot

Lake Chicot is a lake located near Lake Village, Arkansas. It is the largest oxbow lake in North America and the largest natural lake in Arkansas, formed 600 years ago by the meandering of the Mississippi River. The name Chicot, French for stumpy, is after the many cypress stumps and trees along its banks.

KRKD

KRKD was an American radio station licensed to serve Dermott, Arkansas, USA. The station was most recently owned by Community Broadcast Group Inc. , and the broadcast license held by M.R.S. Ventures, Inc. When KRKD went off the air permanently in early 2007, it broadcast a classic rock music format branded as "Rock 105.7". The station was assigned the KRKD call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on November 23, 1999.
