The James San Jacinto Mountains Reserve, a unit of the UC Natural Reserve System, is a 29-acre ecological reserve and biological field station located at an altitude of 5,200 feet in a wilderness area of the San Jacinto Mountains near Lake Fulmor in Riverside County, California, United States. Open Book (Tahquitz)

Open Book is a technical rock climbing route at Tahquitz Peak, CA. Since the Yosemite Decimal System was developed at Tahquitz it is no coincidence that the first climb to be rated 5.9, Open Book, is also located at Tahquitz. In 1952, when Royal Robbins climbed it free, it was one of the most difficult free ascents in the country.

Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California

Idyllwild, Pine Cove, and Fern Valley are three adjacent communities, of which Idyllwild is the largest, located in the San Jacinto Mountains in Riverside County, California, United States. "Mile-high Idyllwild" is a popular southern California mountain resort about one mile (1.6 km) in altitude. Idyllwild is flanked by two large rocks, Tahquitz Peak (with nearby Lily Rock) and Suicide Rock, which are famous in Southern California rock climbing circles.
