Pomins is an unincorporated community in El Dorado County, California. It is located 2 miles north of Meeks Bay, at an elevation of 6260 feet (1908 m). A post office operated at Pomins from 1915 to 1942. The name honors its first postmaster, Frank J. Pomin.

Meeks Bay, California
Meeks Bay (formerly, Meigs Bay, Micks Bay, and Murphys) is an unincorporated community in El Dorado County, California. It lies on Lake Tahoe at the mouth of Meeks Creek, at an elevation of 6240 feet (1902 m). The place is named for John Meeks, who owned the land. The Meeks brothers baled 25 tons of wild hay in the meadows at the mouth of Meeks Creek in 1862. A post office operated at Meeks Bay from 1929 to 1972.

Homewood Mountain Resort
Homewood Mountain Resort is a ski area located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in the state of California, a few miles south of Tahoe City in the town of Homewood. It has 1,260 acres of skiable terrain and seven lifts. While it currently does not offer lodging on site, a Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been submitted to the regional planning commission to allow for the development of a resort inclusive of a hotel, condominiums, and various other additions.

Ward Creek (Lake Tahoe)

The Park is approximately 179 acres and has an extensive trail system that ties in with the bike path along Hwy 89 and connects with USFS trails to Stanford rock and the Tahoe Rim Trail.
