The highest natural point in Louisiana, a hill known as Mt. Driskill, 535 feet in elevation, is located in north central Bienville Parish.

Caldwell (1925–1993), based in Jonesboro, was born in Saline and graduated from Saline High School in 1942.

Kepler Lake
Kepler Lake is a reservoir located in Northwest Louisiana, USA. It is about 5 miles from Castor, 4 miles from Jamestown, 6 miles from Bienville and about 12 miles from Gibsland, Louisiana. Kepler is an open lake available for fishing and boating. Kepler's spillway drains into Black Lake Bayou which drains into Black Lake in Natchitoches Parish. Piney Woods Road is the only road that crosses Kepler. The Kepler spillway is located on the south side of the lake.
