Hubbard Lake (Michigan)

Hubbard Lake is a lake in Alcona County in Northern Michigan. The lake covers 8,850 acres (36 km²) and is seven miles (11 km) long (north-south) and two miles (3 km) wide. It has a maximum depth of 85 feet (26 m) with an average depth of 32.6 feet (9.9 m). The lake spans three townships: Caledonia, Alcona, and Hawes. The lake is part of the a large tract of land (more than six million acres) that was ceded by the Ojibwa, Ottawa and Potawatomi to the United States in the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw.

Hubbard Lake, Alcona County, Michigan

Hubbard Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) applied by the U.S. Census Bureau to the populated area surrounding the Hubbard Lake body of water in Alcona County in the U.S. state of Michigan. This CDP is defined for statistical purposes and does not have legal status as a municipality. The area is defined by the encompassed portions of Caledonia Township, Alcona Township, and Hawes Township. The population was 993 at the 2000 census.

WATZ-FM

WATZ-FM and WRGZ (96.7 FM, "WATZ 99.3 and 96.7") are two radio stations simulcasting a country music format. The two stations are licensed to the cities of Alpena (WATZ) and Rogers City, Michigan (WRGZ). WRGZ first began broadcasting in 1984 under the call sign WMLQ while WATZ has been assigned the same call sign since it signed on in the late 1960s. The stations, along with sister station WATZ AM, are currently owned by Midwestern Broadcasting Company.
