Wayside, Mississippi

Wayside is an unincorporated community located near the intersection of Highways 1 and 438 in west central Washington County, Mississippi. On October 9, 2009, three mobile homes were destroyed and 16 houses were damaged; many trees were knocked down as well. A fatality took place in a mobile home. Two others were injured due to an EF1 tornado. Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 38780.
