Minden, Nevada

Minden is a census-designated place (CDP) in Douglas County, Nevada, United States. The population was 3,001 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Douglas County and is adjacent to the city of Gardnerville. It is named after the town of Minden, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It has possessed a post office since 1906. US Highway 395 runs through Minden. It is also the terminus of State Route 88, which becomes California State Route 88 on the west side of the state line.

Jobs Peak, located in Alpine County, California, is the most prominent peak visible from the Carson Valley in Douglas County, Nevada. The peak offers hiking and backcountry skiing with the view of Lake Tahoe. The mountain is named for Moses Job who, in the early 1850s, opened a store in nearby Sheridan, Nevada.

Gardnerville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Douglas County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the county seat of Minden. The population was 5,656 at the 2010 census. U.S. Route 395 runs through the center of Gardnerville. State Route 207, known as Kingsbury Grade, connects Gardnerville to Stateline and U.S. Route 50.
