Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is a ski resort located near Mars Hill, North Carolina. The area has twenty-three ski slopes and trails. Approximately 57% of the slopes are rated beginner, 35% intermediate, and 8% advanced. With a top elevation of 4,600 feet, Wolf Ridge has a maximum vertical drop of 700 feet . The slopes are accessed by four chair lifts and two carpet lifts. Typical of North Carolina ski areas, Wolf Ridge relies primarily on man-made snow for its slopes.

It is located approximately 30 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina, 6 miles from interstate 26 and borders the Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee state line and Appalachian Trail. It is named after Wolf Laurel Branch, which flows into Puncheon Fork after leaving the community upstream.

Mars Hill, North Carolina

Mars Hill is a town in Madison County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 U.S. Census. It is the home of Mars Hill College, the name of which was inspired by Acts 17:22. The town is located approximately one mile west of Interstate 26, and 15 miles due north of Asheville, western North Carolina's largest city. It is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area.
