Pick City is a town in Mercer County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 123 at the 2010 census. Pick City was founded in 1946 and named after Lewis A. Pick, director of the Missouri River office of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. It overlooks the Garrison Dam.

Lake Sakakawea
Lake Sakakawea is a reservoir in the Missouri River basin in central North Dakota. Named for the Shoshone-Hidatsa woman Sakakawea, it is the largest man-made lake in North Dakota and the third largest in the United States, after Lake Mead and Lake Powell. The lake lies in parts of six counties in western North Dakota: Dunn, McKenzie, McLean, Mercer, Mountrail, and Williams.

Riverdale, North Dakota
Riverdale is a town in McLean County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 205 at the 2010 census. Riverdale was the largest of the construction camps that sprang up in 1946 to house workers building the Garrison Dam just to the west. After the dam was completed in 1953, residents of the other camps (including Dakota City and Big Bend) who decided to stay on relocated to Riverdale.

Fort Stevenson
Fort Stevenson was a frontier military fort in the 19th century in what was then Dakota Territory and what is now North Dakota. The fort was named for Thomas G. Stevenson, a Civil War general who was killed in the Battle of Spotsylvania. Fort Stevenson's Arikara name was kaniitaxá [kanitaxá, kanitAxá]. It was built in 1867 and abandoned in 1883. Life at the fort features heavily in the memoir of Régis de Trobriand, the commander of the fort.

Fort Stevenson State Park Arboretum
The Fort Stevenson State Park Arboretum is a new arboretum located near the campground at Fort Stevenson State Park [438 acres ] on the north shore of Lake Sakakawea approximately 3 miles (5 km) south of Garrison, North Dakota. The arboretum contains over 50 native and non-native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses, including Eleagnus angustifolia, Juniperus scopulorum, Salix exigua, and Ulmus pumila.
