Oregon and Northwestern Railroad

The Oregon and Northwestern Railroad (O&NW) is a defunct railroad in southeastern Oregon in the United States. It evolved from the defunct Malheur Railroad in 1928 and eventually ran 50.2 miles between Hines and Seneca, with 19 trestles, along the present-day route of the U.S. 395. The Edward Hines Lumber Company purchased the Malheur Railroad from businessman Fred Herrick in 1928 and expanded its network in order to make the company's lumber mill more easily accessible from logging land.
