Williamsburg Botanical Garden

The Williamsburg Botanical Garden is a 501(c)(3) non-profit botanical garden currently taking shape in Williamsburg, Virginia. The garden's board was established in 2001. The garden itself occupies a site (the Ellipse Garden in Freedom Park, at 5535 Centerville Road) and continues to add features and programs. Most recently a Multigenerational Enabling Garden was added to support both children's garden programs and programs for mobility-limited adults.

Battle of Spencer's Ordinary

The Battle of Spencer's Ordinary was an inconclusive skirmish that took place on 26 June 1781, late in the American Revolutionary War. British forces under Lieutenant Colonel John Graves Simcoe and American forces under Colonel Richard Butler, light detachments from the armies of General Lord Cornwallis and the Marquis de Lafayette respectively, clashed near a tavern at a road intersection not far from Williamsburg, Virginia.
