Goshen Pass

Goshen Pass is a water gap, or gorge, in the Little North Mountain, formed by the passage of the Maury River, approximately 20 miles northwest of Lexington in Rockbridge County, Virginia. State Route 39 traverses the pass along the banks of the Maury River. Goshen Pass is the site of the Matthew Fontaine Maury memorial overlooking the Maury river. After Maury's death, his body was taken from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington to Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.

Goshen Scout Reservation

Goshen Scout Reservation is a Boy Scout reservation designated to camping, swimming, hiking and other various activities. Goshen is home to six Boy Scouts of America resident summer camps located near Goshen, Virginia, and is owned and operated by the National Capital Area Council. The camps are all built around Lake Merriwether. Goshen first opened to Scouts of the National Capital Area Council in the summer of 1967. It today has six different camps with over 4,000 acres of land.

Goshen, Virginia

Goshen is a town in Rockbridge County, Virginia, United States. The population was 406 at the 2000 census. The town is known amongst the Boy Scouts of America for hosting Goshen Scout Reservation, one of the largest Boy Scout camps in America. In February 2009 the BSA announced that the area would be the full-time home to the quadrennial national Scout jamboree, however in August 2009 the BSA announced they are no longer considering Goshen for the new Jamboree home.
