Nad Ali District

Nad Ali or Nad-e Ali is a district in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Marja is an unincorporated agricultural district in Nad Ali. The area is irrigated by the Helmand and Arghandab Valley Authority. Nahri Saraj District

Nahri Saraj District (Pashto: نهر سراج ولسوالۍ&#8206) (population 166,827), also called Nahre Saraj, is a district in Helmand Province, Southern Afghanistan. Its principal municipality is Girishk (population 48,546).

Girishk

Girishk or Gereshk is a town in Nahri Saraj District in Helmand province on the Helmand River in Afghanistan, some 120 km northwest of Kandahar, at 817 metres altitude. It is the centre of a rich agricultural region with the Kajakai Dam upriver diverting water to the Boghra Irrigation Canal. Girishk was originally built around a fort on the east bank of the river but was later rebuilt on the west.

Camp Bastion

Camp Bastion is the main British military base in Afghanistan. Accommodating 28,000 people it is situated northwest of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand Province, and exists to be the logistics hub for operations in Helmand. It is the largest British overseas military camp built since the Second World War. Built in early 2006 by 39 Engineer Regiment Royal Engineers, the camp is situated in a remote desert area, far from population centres.
