Forward Operating Base Jackson (FOB Jackson) is a United States military base located just west of Sangin Village, Sangin District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan. It is named after British soldier Private Damien Jackson of the Third Battalion, the Parachute Regiment.

Sangin

Sangin is a town in Helmand province of Afghanistan, with population of approximately 14,000 people. It is located on {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:32|4|24|N|64|50|2|E| | |name= }} in the valley of the Helmand River at 888 m altitude, 95 km to the north-east of Lashkar Gah. Sangin is notorious as one of the central locations of the opium trade in the south of the country, and is also a town that has traditionally supported the Taliban.

Operation Achilles

Operation Achilles was a NATO operation, part of the war in Afghanistan. Its objective was to clear the Helmand province of the Taliban. The operation began on March 6, 2007. The offensive is the largest NATO-based operation in Afghanistan to date. NATO officials reported that, contrary to previous operations, Taliban fighters were avoiding direct confrontation in favor of guerilla tactics.

FOB Armadillo

It was occupied by ISAF forces from Britain and Denmark as part of Task Force Helmand during the War in Afghanistan (2001–present).

Forward Operating Base Budwan

FOB Budwan was a military base located near Gereshk in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. It was occupied by ISAF forces from the United Kingdom and Denmark as part of Task Force Helmand during the War in Afghanistan. It was one of three smaller forward operating bases (FOBs) used by British and Danish forces around Gereshk in addition to their headquarters at FOB Price. The closing and disassembling of Budwan started in December 2010. The last troops and equipment left in late January 2011.
