Hamun-e Helmand

Hāmūn-e Helmand is a shallow, marshy, lake (or lagoon) or hāmūn located in eastern Iran, near the Afghanistan border. It is fed by the Helmand River, which starts in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan. Together with two sibling shallow lakes, Hāmūn-e Sabari and Hāmūn-e Puzak, which extend into the territory of present-day Afghanistan, it forms the extended wetlands of the endorheic Sīstān Basin which straddles a large border region in southeastern Iran and southwestern Afghanistan.

Hamun Lake

Lake Hāmūn or Hamoun Oasis is a term applied to wetlands in endorheic Sīstān Basin on the Irano-Afghan border. Hāmūn is generic term which refers to shallow lakes (or lagoons), usually seasonal, that occur in deserts of southeast Iran and adjacent areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan as product of snowmelt in nearby mountains in spring.

Zehak County

Zehak County is a county in Sistan and Baluchestan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Zehak. It was separated from Zabol County in 2005. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 70,839, in 14,683 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Jazink District. The county has one city: Zehak.
