Zaranj Airport

Zaranj Airport is a domestic airport located by the city of Zaranj in southwestern Afghanistan. It was built by the Afghan government to serve the population of Nimruz Province. The airport is used for civilian and military purposes. In addition to the Afghan Air Force and Afghan National Police, the U. Hirmand County is a county in Sistan va Baluchestan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Dust Mohammad. It was separated from Zabol in 2007. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 73,254, in 14,677 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Qorqori District. Zehak County is a county in Sistan and Baluchestan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Zehak. It was separated from Zabol County in 2005. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 70,839, in 14,683 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Jazink District. The county has one city: Zehak.

Hamun-e Helmand

Hāmūn-e Helmand is a shallow, marshy, lake (or lagoon) or hāmūn located in eastern Iran, near the Afghanistan border. It is fed by the Helmand River, which starts in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan. Together with two sibling shallow lakes, Hāmūn-e Sabari and Hāmūn-e Puzak, which extend into the territory of present-day Afghanistan, it forms the extended wetlands of the endorheic Sīstān Basin which straddles a large border region in southeastern Iran and southwestern Afghanistan.

Chakhansur District

Chakhansur is a district in the Nimruz Province of Afghanistan. It has a population of about 11,165 as of 2004, which includes Pashtun, Tajik, Baloch and Hazara ethnic groups. The economy is primarily based on agriculture and the necessary water for irrigation is dependent on the status of the Sistan Basin, an endorheic basin which periodically becomes dry. This area of Afghanistan was a major medieval cultural hub on the Silk Road but most ancient structures are now covered by sand.
