Oakwood, New South Wales
Oakwood is a small rural village on the North West Slopes of the New England region. The village is situated on the Inverell to Yetman Road approximately 19 kilometres northwest of Inverell and 100 km from Yetman in Inverell Shire, New South Wales, Australia. Oakwood was named after its English counterpart. Oakwood Post Office opened on 16 April 1883 and closed in 1971.

Ashford Caves
The Ashford Caves Karst Conservation Reserve contains an outcrop of coralline limestone. It is about 8 km west of the former Ashford coal mine, north of Ashford and not far from the Queensland border town of Texas, Queensland. Originally on a private property, the Ashford Limestone caves are now part of the Kwiambal National Park. A basic camping ground called 'Lemon Tree Flat' is nearby (within a 10 km Radius) as are the Macintyre Falls.

Pindari Dam
Pindari Dam is a reservoir in New South Wales, Australia 22 kilometres east of the town of Ashford and north of Inverell. It is primarily an agricultural storage dam used extensively by the cotton industry. Pindari Dam is located on the Severn River, and is named after the Aboriginal word for 'high rocks'. The name was used for an early pastoral run near the dam. Pindari Dam was the first major conservation storage to be built in northern NSW, commencing in 1967 and being completed in 1969.

Kwiambal is a national park in New South Wales, Australia located about 30 km from the town of Ashford. The Severn River and Macintyre River, both flow through and finally converge in the park below the MacIntyre falls. The park is studded with granite outcrops and also features the Ashford Caves.
