Dundullimal Homestead

Dundullimal Homestead is a colonial slab hut type homestead located about 10 km south of Dubbo, New South Wales, on Obley Road and the Macquarie River. It is located six kilometres further out of town than Western Plains Zoo. Built in the early 1840s as the head station of a 6,500 hectare squatting run, the building is believed to be the oldest surviving slab hut house in Australia. The homestead is also Dubbo's oldest building open to the public.

Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Taronga Western Plains Zoo, formerly known as Western Plains Zoo and commonly known as Dubbo Zoo, is a large zoo near Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It opened to the public on 28 February 1977, to provide more living and breeding space for large animals such as elephants and antelopes which needed more space than was available at the restricted Sydney site. The zoo is run by the Taronga Conservation Society (formerly Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales), along with Taronga Zoo.

Little River (Dubbo)

Little River (Dubbo), a watercourse of the Macquarie catchment within the Murray-Darling basin, is located in the central western and Orana districts of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises in Curumbeyenya Range within Goobang National Park, west of Molong and flows generally north north-east, joined by three minor tributaries, before reaching its confluence with the Macquarie River west of Geurie; descending 363 metres over its 122 kilometres course.

Dubbo

Dubbo is a city in the Orana Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest population centre in the Orana region, with a population of 32,327 and serves an estimated catchment of 130,000. It is located at the intersection of the Mitchell, Newell and Golden highways. Dubbo is located approximately 275 m above sea level, 303 km north-west of the state capital Sydney and is a major road and rail freight hub to other parts of New South Wales.

Troy Junction – Merrygoen railway line

The Troy Junction - Merrygoen railway line is a railway line in northern New South Wales, Australia. It forms part of a cross country railway line between Dubbo in the state's central West, and Werris Creek on the Main North line, allowing goods from the west of the state to access the Hunter ports, bypassing Sydney. This section of line is likely to form part of the Inland Railway from Melbourne to Brisbane.
