Ivanhoe, New South Wales

Ivanhoe is a very small township on the Cobb Highway between the Lachlan and Darling rivers in New South Wales, Australia.   It is located within the Central Darling Shire local government area.   Ivanhoe functions as a service centre for the surrounding area.   The township is characterised by a particularly wide main street. At the 2006 census, Ivanhoe had a population of 265 people.

The Ivanhoe (Warakirri) Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum security prison for males, is located in Ivanhoe, New South Wales. The centre is operated by Corrective Services NSW an agency of the Department of Attorney General and Justice of the Government of New South Wales. The centre detains sentenced and unsentenced felons under New South Wales and/or Commonwealth legislation. The majority of inmates are Aboriginal.
