Lake Eucumbene

Lake Eucumbene (pronounced you-come-been) is a man-made lake on the Eucumbene River in the Snowy Mountains of Southern New South Wales in Australia. The lake was created by the damming of the river as part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. The dam was built between 1956 and 1958. It is the largest storage lake in the Snowy Mountains Scheme, with a capacity some 9 times the volume of Sydney Harbour. Much of the lake is bordered by the Kosciuszko National Park.

Anglers Reach, New South Wales

Anglers Reach is a village in New South Wales, Australia in Snowy River Shire. It is on the shores of Lake Eucumbene near Adaminaby. In 2006, it has a resident population of about 69, but is popular as a holiday destination for trout fishing and as a base for visitors to the skifields at Selwyn Snowfields.

Big Trout

The Big Trout is a 10m high fibreglass model located in Adaminaby, New South Wales, a popular fishing spot for trout. Built in 1973 by local artist and fisherman, Andy Lomnici, the Big Trout is part of the more than 150 Big Things located throughout Australia. Originally conceived by Leigh Stewart, the Snowy Mountains Authority assisted with funding, and work on the trout started in 1971.

Adaminaby, New South Wales

Adaminaby is a small town near the Snowy Mountains located north-west of Cooma, New South Wales, Australia, in the Snowy River Shire. The historic town, of about 234 people, is a trout fishing centre and winter sports destination situated at 1,017 metres above sea level. Economic life is built around tourism and agriculture and the town serves as a service point for Selwyn Snowfields and the Northern Skifields.
