Isaac Region
Isaac Region is a local government area in Queensland, Australia created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in Central Queensland, contains the entire area of three previous local government areas; Shire of Belyando; Shire of Broadsound; and Shire of Nebo. The report recommended that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect eight councillors and a mayor.

Middlemount is a town in Queensland, Australia, located 242 kilometres inland (by road) from Mackay and Rockhampton. It is a mining town servicing two coal mines, Foxleigh and German Creek. At the 2006 census, Middlemount had a population of 2,038. The German Creek mine (or Capcoal), operated by Anglo Coal, is notable as having the deepest longwall coal mine in Queensland, and also for operating Australia's only 'thin-seam' underground coal mine, using technology from the USA.

Mackenzie River (Queensland)
The Mackenzie River is a seasonal tributary of the Fitzroy River in Queensland, Australia. It is created by the intersection of the Comet and Nogoa rivers flowing from the Expedition Range in Central Queensland. It was discovered in 1844 by Ludwig Leichhardt, a German explorer who explored many parts of Queensland and the Northern Territory. The main tributaries of the Mackenzie River are the Isaac River, Connors River and Funnel Creek.

Tieri is a town in Central Queensland, Australia, located in the Central Highlands. Established in 1983, the town like nearby Middlemount and Dysart, is a service centre for local coal mines. At the 2006 census, Tieri had a population of 1,679. Annecdotally there are now almost 2000 people living in town between the 468 houses with families and the single persons accommodation camp. Tieri is a small mining town situated in Central Queensland.
