Bullyard

Bullyard is a small rural town located on the Bruce Highway in central Queensland, Australia, approximately 37 km west of Bundaberg and 358 km north-west of Brisbane, the state capital. It is a small community made up mostly of sugar cane growers, livestock & fruit and vegetable farmers. Among the fruit and vegetable farms in the Bullyard area are tomato, mango, pineapple and potatoes. Bullyard has a state school that facilitates the towns primary aged children.

Gin Gin, Queensland

Gin Gin is a small rural town located on the Bruce Highway in central Queensland, Australia, approximately 51 km west of Bundaberg and 370 km north-west of Brisbane, the state capital. The town owes its existence to its strategic location about halfway between Brisbane and Rockhampton. It is often used as a stop-over point for drivers travelling between these two centres. At the 2006 census, Gin Gin had a population of 892.

Shire of Kolan

The Shire of Kolan was a local government area located in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland, Australia, to the west of Bundaberg. The Shire, administered from the town of Gin Gin, covered an area of 2,650.6 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 2008, when it was amalgamated with the City of Bundaberg and the Shires of Burnett and Isis to form the Bundaberg Region. The major industries in the area include cattle and sugar cane.

Wallaville, Queensland

Wallaville is a town in Queensland, Australia. The town is located in the Bundaberg Region local government area, 372 kilometres north of the state capital, Brisbane and 43 kilometres south west of the regional centre of Bundaberg. At the 2006 census, Wallaville had a population of 182. Currajong Creek runs through the town, flowing into the Burnett River. The creek is also known for the Ceratodus lung fish found in quite large numbers.

Ben Anderson Barrage forms part of the Bundaberg Irrigation Scheme, and is located in southeast Queensland, Australia, near the towns of Bundaberg, Gin Gin, and Childers. It is composed of water storages, a channel distribution system, and a state government developed irrigation area. Storages in this part of the scheme include Ben Anderson Barrage (30,300ML) Walla Weir (29,500 ML) and Bingera Weir (4800 ML).
