Shire of Murilla
The Shire of Murilla was a local government area located in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The shire, administered from the town of Miles, covered an area of 6,075.8 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 2008, when it amalgamated with the Town of Dalby and the Shires of Chinchilla, Tara and Wambo and the southern part of Taroom to form the Western Downs Region.

Miles is a small town in Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 census, Miles had a population of 1,164. The town is situated on the Warrego Highway, 340 kilometres west of Brisbane, the state capital. Formerly known as Dogwood Crossing, the town is situated on Dogwood Creek, named by German explorer Ludwig Leichhardt in 1844. The town was renamed Miles in honour of the Queensland Colonial Secretary, William Miles.

Drillham is a town in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The town is located on the Warrego Highway and in the Western Downs Region local government area, 358 kilometres north west of the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Drillham and the surrounding area had a population of 272. The town was established in 1878 to service the railway and was home to a camp for workers building the bridge over nearby Drillham Creek.
