The Shire of Pittsworth was a local government area in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia, about 40 kilometres southwest of the regional city of Toowoomba. The shire covered an area of 1,089.5 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1913 until 2008, when it amalgamated with several other councils in the Toowoomba area to form the Toowoomba Region.

Darling Downs
The Darling Downs is a farming region on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in southern Queensland, Australia. The Downs are to the west of South East Queensland and are one of eleven major regions of Queensland. The region was named after the then Governor of New South Wales, Ralph Darling by Allan Cunningham, an early Australian explorer.

Drayton is an outer southwestern suburb of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Toowoomba Region. The first substantial settlement on the Darling Downs in c.1842. The nearby township of Toowoomba expanded more rapidly than Drayton, and in the 1860s the centre of population shifted to Toowoomba, leaving Drayton as a southwestern suburb. One of the oldest buildings in the Drayton area is the Royal Bull's Head Inn.

Greenmount, formerly known as Greenmount West, and prior to that as Emu Creek, is a rural town on the Darling Downs in the state of Queensland, Australia. It is located just off the New England Highway 32 kilometres south of the regional city of Toowoomba. At the 2006 census, Greenmount had a population of 336. The region was settled by graziers in the 1840s; farming activities remain the chief source of employment in Greenmount today.
