Bordertown, South Australia

Bordertown is a small South Australian town near the Victorian border. It is where the Dukes Highway and the railway line, the two main routes between Adelaide and Melbourne, cross Tatiara Creek. Bordertown is the commercial and administrative centre of the Tatiara District Council. Tatiara is the local Aboriginal word for "Good Country". Bordertown was established in 1852 when a direct route across the 90-mile desert was being planned for gold escorts from the Victorian goldfields to Adelaide.

Bordertown High School

Bordertown High School is a high school in Bordertown, South Australia, Australia in the Tatiara District Council. On 26 September 2008, in the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, eight schools participated in the big Rock Eisteddfod Grand Final. Bordertown High School placed second in this contest.

Tatiara District Council

Tatiara District Council is a local government area located in eastern South Australia, about 100 km north of the Limestone Coast. The name Tatiara is said to mean "the good country", a phrase which dates back to the area's first inhabitants. It is also one of the largest local government areas in South Australia at 6476 km². The district's economy is based primarily on agriculture, with cereal crops such as wheat, barley and oats and with livestock such as sheep, cattle and pigs prominent.

Clayton Farm Heritage Museum

Clayton Farm Heritage Museum is the former home of the Wiese family located off Naracoorte Road on the outskirts of Bordertown, South Australia. It consists of a group of historical thatched buildings and sheds, including the largest thatched structure in the Southern Hemisphere. The historic farm homestead dates back to 1885 with a woolshed dating back to 1901.

Mundulla

Mundulla is a town in eastern South Australia. The town is located in the Tatiara District Council local government area, 278 kilometres south east of the state capital, Adelaide. The name of the town is derived from the Aboriginal work mantala meaning "place of thunder", referring to a rumbling sound made when trampling on the earth as a result of the many caves in the area. At the 2006 census, Mundulla and the large surrounding area had a population of 1,042.
