Wudinna District Council
Wudinna District Council is located in central Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. Established on 28 May 1925 as The District Council of Minnipa, the name was later changed to Le Hunte after Sir George Ruthven Le Hunte, Governor of South Australia, who proclaimed the County of Le Hunte in 1908. The name was officially changed to Wudinna District Council from the District Council of Le Hunte on 24 April 2008.

Australian Farmer
The Australian Farmer (also known as the Big Farmer) is a statue located in Wudinna, South Australia. Regarded as one of Australia's Big Things, the granite sculpture stands at 8 metres in height, and weighs in the vicinity of 70 tonnes. It took 17 years to produce from initial proposal to the final unveiling in 2009, and two years for the artist, Marijan Bekic (with the assistance of his son, David), to carve.

The area was first settled in 1861 when Robert George Standley lodged a claim for 10 sq. miles of land surrounding Weedna Hill ('weedna' later became changed to Wudinna which may be an Aboriginal word meaning 'the granite hill').. It was proclaimed a town in 1916. It is on the Eyre Highway across the top of Eyre Peninsula.
