Darlington Probation Station was a convict penal settlement on Maria Island, Tasmania, from 1825 to 1832, then later a convict probation station during the last phase of convict management in eastern Australia (1842–1850).

Ile du Nord

Ile du Nord is a small granite island, with an area of about 10 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Maria Island Group, lying close to the eastern coast of Tasmania near the Freycinet Peninsula. It is close to the northernmost point of Maria Island and is part of the Maria Island National Park.

Maria Island National Park

Maria Island National Park occupies the whole of Maria Island off the east coast of Tasmania, Australia, 69 km (straight-line distance) northeast of Hobart or about 90 kilometres by road to Triabunna followed by a ferry ride. The island has had a mixed history, including two convict eras, two industrial eras, a farming era and, finally, becoming the national park that it is today.

Maria Island

Maria Island is a mountainous island off the east coast of Tasmania. The entire island is a national park. Maria Island National Park has a total area of 115.50 km², which includes a marine area of 18.78 km² off the island's northwest coast. The island is about 20 km in length from north to south and, at its widest, is about 13 km west to east. At its closest point (Point Lesueur), the island lies four kilometres off the east coast of Tasmania. Tasmanians pronounce the name /məˈraɪ.

Lachlan Island

Lachlan Island is a small island, with an area of about 2.5 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Maria Island Group, lying close to the eastern coast of Tasmania near the Freycinet Peninsula. It lies midway between Maria Island and the Tasmanian mainland.
