Great Lake (Tasmania)

The Great Lake is a lake located in the central north region of Tasmania, Australia, within the sparsely inhabited Central Highlands municipality. Its original size was much smaller; it has been dammed at its southern outflow for hydro-electricity production. It is Australia's second largest freshwater lake (Lake Pedder is considered to be the largest), 1,030 metres above sea level. The lake has an area of 114 km². It is used for hydro-electric power, fishing, and tourism.

Waddamana, Tasmania

Waddamana is a former 'hydro-town' in Tasmania. It is at the foot of the southern side of the Central Plateau of Tasmania. It flourished with a population of over 100 in the early 1900s when the power plant situated there was being built. Waddamana Post Office opened on 18 August 1913 and closed in 1971. Its current permanent population stands at four or five.

Arthurs Lake (Tasmania)

Arthurs Lakes is a Tasmanian combined lake that was created by Hydro Tasmania in the 1920s by damming the Upper Lake River, and Blue Lake and Sand Lake—as well as the Morass marsh. It is located in the Central Highlands of Tasmania north of Lyell Highway, east of Great Lake. It is a very popular fishing lake area.
