Boort

Boort is a town in Victoria, Australia, located next to Lake Boort, in the Shire of Loddon. At the 2006 census, Boort had a population of 773. The town is known for its native birdlife. Boort is a local Aboriginal word meaning "Smoke from the hill". The Post Office opened on 14 August 1874, and the railway arrived in 1883. Main sources of employment are retail, olive processing and tourism. Agriculture is a major industry and employer in the Boort region.

The Shire of Gordon was a local government area about 245 kilometres north-northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 2,028 square kilometres, and existed from 1885 until 1995.

Mysia, Victoria

Mysia is a locality in north central Victoria, Australia in the Shire of Loddon local government area, 243 kilometres north of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Mysia and the surrounding area had a population of 105. Mysia Post Office opened on 6 June 1877 and Mysia Railway Station office opened in 1883. Mysia closed in 1895, but reopened in 1911 replacing Mysia Railway Station office, finally closing in 1992.
