Thirteenth Beach

Thirteenth Beach is located west of Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia and the name is taken from the close proximity of the beach to the thirteenth hole of the Barwon Heads Golf Course. Stretching along 4.5 kilometres of coast, Black Rock marks the western end. The beach is home to the Thirteenth Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, which voluntarily patrol the beach during summer to rescue people who get into difficulties in the sometimes dangerous surf conditions.

Murtnaghurt Lagoon

Murtnaghurt Lagoon, also known as Murtnaghurt Swamp or Lake Murtnaghurt, is a shallow, ephemeral wetland west of the town of Barwon Heads on the southern coast of the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. It comprises two enclosed depressions, elongated west-east and separated by a low ridge. The wetland is about 2 km in length, and up to 600 m wide, with 4.5 km of shoreline enclosing an area of 81 ha.
