Buangor is a closed station located in the town of Buangor, on the Ararat railway line in Victoria, Australia. The station was one of 35 closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981 as part of the New Deal timetable for country passengers.

Buangor

Buangor is a town in the Mallee region of northern Victoria. It is approximately 181 kilometres west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2011 census, Buangor had a population of 248. Buangor Post Office opened on March 25, 1863 The town has a primary school, which was built in 1878, and had an enrollment of 19 students in 2011. Buangor railway station, on the Ararat railway line, was closed in 1981.

Mount Buangor State Park

Mount Buangor State Park is located 60 kilometres west of Ballarat, Victoria. The 2400 hectare Park takes in varied eucalypt forest, creek flats, a waterfall, steep escarpments and Mount Buangor, the area's highest peak. The park contains a 15km network of walking trails.

Langi Ghiran State Park

The Langi Ghiran State Park is 14 km east of Ararat in the state of Victoria, Australia. The park covers an area of 2695 ha. The park can be used for camping, walking and driving. It has steep granite peaks and gentle sloping open woodland sections. The name Langi Ghiran means 'home of the black cockatoo' in the local Djab Wurrung people's language. Other parks nearby are Mount Buangor in the East and the Grampians in the distant West.

Wimmera River

The Wimmera River is a river in Western Victoria, Australia. It begins in the Pyrenees, and flows northwards into Lake Hindmarsh and Lake Albacutya and, exceptionally, into a chain of ephemeral lakes further north in Wyperfeld National Park and the Big Desert Wilderness Park. In most years flows do not reach these terminal lakes and the river contracts to a series of pools. Its major tributaries include Mount William Creek and the MacKenzie River.
