Cape Bridgewater, Victoria

Cape Bridgewater is a locality in Victoria, Australia. It is located on the western shore of Bridgewater Bay, 21 kilometres south-west of Portland, and 383 kilometres from Melbourne. It lies within the Discovery Bay Coastal Park. The area was settled in the 1860s and a Post Office opened in 1863 (closed 1968) though known as Bridgewater Lower for some years.

Discovery Bay Marine National Park

Discovery Bay Marine National Park is a 2,770-hectare marine park near Portland, Victoria, Australia. It extends along 6 kilometres of coastline on the western side of Cape Bridgewater, from Cape Duquesne to Blacks Beach, and offshore three nautical miles to the limit of Victorian waters. The Discovery Bay Coastal Park protects the adjacent coastline.

Cape Nelson State Park

Cape Nelson State Park, near Portland on Victoria's southwest coast is a 243-hectare state park. Attractions include a 3-kilometre clifftop walk and a visit to the Cape Nelson lighthouse. The lighthouse was completed in 1884 and today offers accommodation in the Light Station Keepers Cottages. Fauna include the Heath Mouse, Red-necked Wallaby and Echidna. The main vegetation types are listed as Soap Mallee, Heath and Wet Heath.
