Swifts Creek

Swifts Creek is a town in the Tambo Valley of East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The town is on the Great Alpine Road between Omeo and Ensay, 379 kilometres east of the state capital Melbourne and 300 metres above sea level. The area was originally settled by Europeans in the gold rushes of the mid-1800s. At the 2011 census, Swifts Creek and the surrounding area had a population of 419, with a median age of 47.

Omeo is a town in Victoria, Australia on the Great Alpine Road, east of Mount Hotham, in the Shire of East Gippsland. At the 2006 census, Omeo had a population of 452. The name is derived from the Aboriginal word for 'mountains' or 'hills'. It serves as the commercial hub for the Tambo and Omeo Valleys.

New Adventure Diversion Tunnel

The New Adventure Tunnel, or Griffith's Tunnel is a Victorian gold rush diversion tunnel on Livingston Creek in Omeo, Victoria, Australia. The diversion consists of a 20 m long cutting and a 75 m long tunnel. The large pool at the tunnel entrance is used as the town's swimming pool. The tunnel and tail-race was cut by Griffiths and party, through a high rocky bluff known as Frenchman's Hill, on Livingstone Creek opposite Omeo township, in 1868.
